Spread the Word
Maybe you know someone who wants to travel around South America, learn Spanish, or do some meaningful and interesting volunteer work somewhere? If you like what we do, but can’t come for a visit, an easy way to support us is to just help us spread the word! Like us on Facebook (and get others to like us on Facebook!), tweet about us on Twitter, and/or leave us positive reviews on hostel booking sites, etc. Helping us spread the word can be help enough!
Can’t come in person, but would still love to help be the wind beneath our wings? Then donate using your credit card via the PayPal button below. It’s fast, easy, and secure. Of course, our goal is to eventually operate as a profit-producing business cooperative. But, let’s face it, it takes money to do all the awesome stuff we do and it’s tough out there! Therefore, we won’t refuse any spare change (or more) you can offer us.
Our Little Wish List
A part of what makes this project work is the desire of each one of us to dream big. Although many of our big dreams can’t be bought, some of our little wishes can be!
Whether you want to donate money specifically towards the purchase of one of these items, would like to send it to us, or even want to bring it to us in person, we’ll make sure that your contribution goes to good use.
- Chairs for our workshops! ($200)
- Big whiteboard for our workshops ($70)
- New set of pans for more efficient cooking ($100)
- A coffee maker ($120)
- Video-doorbell for added security on weekends ($350)
- Projector for workshops ($1,200)
- Tablet/laptop for working/streamlining operations ($400)
- Curtains for the workshop room ($150)
- Patio furniture ($200)
If you’re in the area and have some free time, we have plenty of things on our to-do list that you could help us check off! Whether it’s tending to the garden, helping with general upkeep, leading a practical skills workshop for our co-op members or the community at large, or helping us prepare breakfast, we always appreciate a helping hand. This is a great opportunity for travelers to see the inner-workings of our project and contribute to our community building efforts. It’s also a great way to meet new people and make new friends!
We offer free accommodations in exchange for interning with us (and discounted rates for volunteering with a partner organization). Unlike volunteers, interns agree to remain with us for at least two weeks. We can only accommodate one or two interns at a time, which ensures that you gain more significant training and practice with us while we integrate you into longer-term projects. This will be tailored to the interests, strengths, and weaknesses of each person and may include the following: helping to conduct community-based research, contributing to economic research reports and informational materials, doing marketing and outreach, or helping to coordinate or lead workshops or events. In addition to free accommodations, we hope to offer you a chance to put your skills to meaningful use, while also gaining more practical experience within a cooperative, community-oriented environment.
